Let's imagine that you need to hide some program on your computer from say your boss, your kids or your colleagues.

For example, you want to hide your ICQ, so nobody will know that it is installed on your computer and will not be able to find it on the disk, read your messages history, run it without your knowledge or delete it. With Aether Antiboss, it becomes a very easy task. OK, let's go.

If you haven't already done so, download and run Aether Antiboss setup. Follow the Installaion Wizard instructions to complete the setup. Important note: if you don't want to create Aether Antiboss shortcuts on the Desktop and in the Programs group, and also to prevent the appearance of Aether Antiboss in the Uninstall programs list - then check the Don't create a Start Menu folder checkbox during the Aether Antiboss setup. This feature is very useful when you don't want anyone to know that Aether Antiboss is installed on your computer.

After completing the setup, run Aether Antiboss from the shortcut on your desktop or from the Programs menu. If during the setup the Don't create a Start Menu folder option was set, then run Aether Antiboss directly from where you have installed it to. After this you will see Aether Antiboss main window:

Now you have to add ICQ to the Aether Antiboss configuration. It is very easy. Just find the ICQ executable (IcqLite.exe) in the directory where your ICQ is installed. Select that file and drag'n'drop it onto the Aether Antiboss window:

Doing so will open Add a new program window, which is shown below:

Please note that Program path and Working directory fields are already set to the correct values when we use drag'n'drop to add a new program. You want ICQ to be hidden on your disk, so you check Program is hidden on disk option. Also you want to hide the entire ICQ folder, not the single ICQ executable, so you also check Also hide parent folder. To make ICQ totally invisible in computer memory, check Hide program in memory. Now you can set hotkeys to run ICQ and to hide/unhide its window on the screen. That way you'll be able to run your hidden ICQ and also hide/unhide its window on the screen by simply pressing the corresponding combination of keys on the keyboard. Define your hotkeys for these actions. Adding of ICQ is complete, click on the OK button to close the Add a new program dialog.

You can see that a new item appeared in the Programs pane - it is your hidden ICQ. Make sure that Protection status for this item is set to Active. Now you can check with Windows Explorer or with any other file manager that ICQ folder is not visible on your disk.

It's time now to run the hidden ICQ. Just press the corresponding hotkey you set before to run your hidden ICQ. You see that ICQ successfully launches and runs as usual, but remains completely invisible on your disk:

Now let's imagine that your boss is coming and you have to hide all ICQ windows on your screen as soon as possible and pretend that you are working hard. To accomplish this, just press the selected hotkey for hide/unhide ICQ windows. All ICQ windows and even its icon in the system tray will mysteriously vanish from your screen:

But what if your boss will press Ctrl-Alt-Del to see what programs you are running? He won't notice ICQ in the process list, because it is hidden by Aether Antiboss! When the danger is gone, just press again the same hotkey you used to hide ICQ and it will be instantly restored!

So, you have learned how to hide your ICQ in 30 seconds. With Aether Antiboss you can effortlessly hide any program the same way.

But besides hiding of programs, Aether Antiboss is able to hide any files and folders on your disk with the same easness. Just imagine that your sensitive documents and private photographs are located in a special folder, say folder "Data" on your Desktop. To hide this folder completely, you have to do 2 simple steps:

1. Click on Files & folders in the categories panel on the left. Files & folders pane will become active.
2. Using the Windows Explorer or any other file manager find the folder with your documents that you want to hide and drag'n'drop it onto the Aether Antiboss window.

In the Files & folders pane has appeared a new item - it is your folder with private documents. Make sure that this folder is no more visible on your disk and nobody can get an access to it:
